Looking for a delicious way to enjoy fruits and vegetables? This easy honey peanut butter dip requires only 4 simple ingredients and stirs up to a fluffy, frosting like consistency that’s full of protein. The perfect dip for a fun after school snack, playdate or appetizer enjoyed by kids and moms, alike!
Mixing this dip up always reminds me of that spring right after my daughter was born and my toddler son was always hungry and always wanting to “bake” with mommy.
In efforts to create both healthful and easy options for him, I relied on peanut butter a lot. We’d find all different ways to use it–mainly this dip. A bowl full of this could be found in the fridge all week so he could dip, frost, dollop and decorate with sprinkles.
And as a hungry new mom, I’d basically inhale it too. Still do!
Honey Peanut Butter Dip
Honey Peanut Butter Dip is a must-have because it’s:
- easy enough for a toddler to mix
- pairs beautifully with so many things.
This combines sweet and savory with and a slight bit of tang (from yogurt). Turn ordinary into extraordinary just upon dipping into this dish!
Ingredients
The best part about this is since it’s made with 4 ingredients that you already have on hand, you can whip it together in a breeze!
- Plain, Nonfat Greek Yogurt
- Creamy Peanut Butter
- Honey
- Vanilla
- Cinnamon, optional
What substitutions can I make?
- Yogurt– you could use your favorite plain yogurt
- Peanut Butter– use natural pb, crunch pb, your favorite nut butter or Sunbutter (seed butter)
- Honey– syrup or maple syrup also work as a sweetener
How do I make?
Once you have your ingredients, you’ll add the yogurt, peanut butter, honey and vanilla to a bowl. Using a spoon, smash and stir until well blended.
That’s really all there is to it! You can leave in bowl or transfer to additional serving bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon for an added touch.
This is the part where I just want to eat right off the spoon and lick the bowl… it’s so good!!
Tips/Tricks
- Store leftovers in refrigerator using airtight container for 2-3 days
- Nut Allergy? Use seed butter (SunButter) in lunch box or for known nut allergies
- Need Dairy free? Use dairy free yogurt
- If slicing apples, I recommend this apple slicer–it cuts an apple into 16 pieces vs 8, ideal for little ones or easy bites on the go!
What is good to dip in this easy peanut butter dip?
You may have noticed I mentioned dipping fruits and vegetables in this dip. Did that surprise you? I sure hope so! Because it’s surprisingly awesome how easy it is to eat raw veggies with this too! We love it on almost anything, talk about versatility!! Here’s some of our favorites:
- apples
- pears
- strawberries
- celery
- carrot sticks
- crackers and pretzels
- waffles and toast
- graham crackers and cookies–like vanilla wafers!
It even makes a pretty tasty peanut butter dip sandwich!
Is this healthy?
So healthy. It’s got healthy fats from peanut butter and the natural sweetness of honey and vanilla, eliminating added sugars. The greek yogurt replaces the cream cheese in typical peanut butter dip, enhancing the protein content while reducing the fat.
How many snacks can you think of that provide protein, healthy fats, and depending on how you serve it, a fruit and/or veggie?
