- No special concocting– no drying out, soaking, or chilling overnight
- No planning ahead
And how about this–no more soggy casseroles! Because biscuits don’t completely soak up egg mixture like other breads, no more worrying about that awkward sponge-like bite.
Keep a can on hand, roll out of bed and then decide to make this. Perfect for last minute.

How do I make this easy French Toast Casserole?
Follow these easy steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees lightly spray baking dish with non-stick spray
- Open can of biscuits and cut up each biscuit into 1/8 pieces; line pieces equally in dish
- Scramble eggs and milk together. Stir in vanilla and half of cinnamon
- Pour egg mixture on top of biscuits
- Sprinkle on remaining cinnamon and bake for 30-35 minutes

However, for meal prep, you can bake it the day before and store covered in the refrigerator.
Reheat quickly in a microwave-safe dish for approximately 1 minute, or until warm.
Is French Toast Casserole with Canned Biscuits healthy?
Actually, yes! And canned biscuits help with that. Here’s why:
I just told you biscuits don’t soak up the egg mixture like bread; therefore, you can get away with less egg and liquid. This means less fat, cholesterol and calories.
For example, this casserole only uses 8 eggs (and I’ve even gotten away with 6). Many others use up to a dozen or more (I’ve seen recipes with 18…!).
Other benefits include skipping the heavy cream (non-fat milk is all you need) and saving the sugar for your coffee.
Though I do recommend a light dusting of powdered sugar on top. A simple, sweet way to ease into the day.

- Cut each biscuit into 1/8th pieces, line pieces equally in dish
- Scramble egg and milk together, add in vanilla and cinnamon

I had a can of jumbo biscuits (8ct) in my fridge for monkey bread, but really wanted something lighter and healthier. I took my chances and searched for a french toast bake made with biscuits. That led me to you. This casserole was phenomenal!! I added 1/4 cup of coconut sugar to make it sweet for the kiddos without making it messy for my toddler. I will absolutely be making this again!!!
