Add this simple condiment onto your plate the next time you’re eating fries, burgers or hot dogs! Fry Dipping Sauce mixes up in no time with only 3 ingredients. Tangy, creamy and a fun, healthier spin on your favorite sauce.
What is Fry Dipping Sauce?
Well, first–Fry dipping sauce is delicious.
It’s a popular condiment for everything from fries to plantains all over the world.
Typically, it’s made up of ketchup and mayo. Also known as “Mayochup.” You can buy it bottled in your local grocery condiment aisle. I learned it actually originated in Utah and has a very specific ratio:
one part ketchup to two parts mayo.
You’ll find all variations, often including other ingredients too.
Healthy Fry Dipping Sauce Recipe
This recipe follows a ratio of 1:1… and without the mayo!
Swapping in Greek yogurt for a similar creamy, tangy goodness, “mayochup” sauce transforms into a healthy, tantalizing fry companion.
Taste, benefits and ease! Yummy!!
Ingredients
You probably have these three ingredients on hand.
- Ketchup
- Greek Yogurt
- Paprika
How to Make
Ready for this?
- Mix together ingredients
- Stir
- Serve
Okay to be specific, you’ll want to:
- Combine your ketchup and Greek yogurt.
- Stir with a spoon until nice and evenly combined– You can add your paprika here too. The sauce now resembles more of that lighter red-orangish color that you love dipping into.
- Sprinkling a tiny bit of paprika on top for a bit more of heat and flavor (and if you’re anything like me, the little specks in fry sauce are everything!).
Tips/Tricks
- You can add/subtract the ketchup to yogurt ratio to your preferred taste
- Varieties: replace the ketchup with barbecue sauce or simply add in spices like pepper, garlic or onion powder, or pickle juice!
- Want more heat? Sprinkle in red pepper flakes or stir in hot sauce
- Want sweeter? Add honey or sugar
- Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge for 3-4 days
- Stir before serving

Are you a multiple dipping sauce kind of person? Here’s some other ideas to serve along with fry dipping sauce:
