Make it a happier hour! This bubbling, flavored water with fruit offers a delicious and hydrating solution this afternoon. All you need is sparkling flavored water and a handful of tropical fruit. Easy, sweet and smile-worthy!
Sparkling Flavored Water
It’s not uncommon to find me with a glass of bubbly in hand…
Bubbling sparkling water that is!!
I just love it– it’s widely available, comes in so many different flavors, and at a reasonable price.
And I find it so satisfying to sip on and stay hydrated at the same time.
Sparkling Flavored Water with Frozen Fruit
Today I’m sharing how you can quickly turn that can of water into a sparkling infused drink that offers even more flavor and natural sweetness.
It’s cold, energizing and a host of nutrition.
This idea uses one of my favorite combos (Strawberry Pineapple found at Aldi USA), but the possibilities are endless!
It’s so simple but sure to keep you smiling (and hydrated) today.
Ingredients
- Frozen Tropical Fruit
- Can of sparkling water (I use strawberry pineapple here)
Equipment
- Maon Jar and/or lids for mason jar
- Straw (bright color recommended!)
How to make:
This is just a matter of open, pour and sip
- Grab frozen fruit from freezer and fill mason jar
- Open can of sparkling water and pour over the fruit
- Admire the fizz, add straw and ENJOY
Tips/Tricks
- Cans of sparkling water can be kept in fridge OR pantry; Frozen fruit acts as ice cubes and will cool it down
- Can add mint, lemon, ginger, or any of your favorite flavorings
- Fruit will soften as it sits in water– continue to stir or gently mash for flavors to fuse
- Didn’t finish it all? You’re safe to sip on it from all day but it may turn more bitter the longer it sits.
What fruit can I put in my water?
Any frozen fruit will work! Buy or freeze your own fruit like:
- Strawberries
- Mango
- Pineapple
- Watermelon
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
Berries are so yummy but try to get some chunkier fruit in there to act more like ice cubes, too!
If you go the frozen route, I recommend the Tropical fruit, Berry Medley, or Cherry Berry Blend (like I used in my 3-ingredient ice cream) from Aldi. You’ll love the variety of color, texture and flavors in your drink!
Is fruit flavored water good for you?
Water in general is great for every cell in your body.
And when it comes to hydration, sparkling water hydrates just like plain water. So, if you’re bored with regular ol’ H2o, this can be a great way to drink more water.
It’s also a great alternative to
- Soda
- Artificially flavored drinks
- Alcoholic beverages
For the healthiest way to enjoy, look for sparkling flavored waters that don’t have any artificial flavorings or additional salt added.
Does fruit infused water do anything?
In addition to helping us stay hydrated, you’ll get a serving of real fruit. Boost your nutrition with:
- Antioxidants
- vitamins
- fiber
- Electrolytes (potassium, sodium, magnesium, etc)
Electrolytes are important all year round, but especially in the heat of the summer. The strawberries and mangos in this fruit mixture are two great sources.
Cheers!
